Job summary

QCS Staffing Ltd in North Carolina seeks a Package Owner (Mechanical) for a US-based, life sciences mega project. This contract role supports a major new-build facility by reviewing drawings, coordinating HVAC interfaces, and ensuring installation aligns with design intent and quality standards.

You will lead field input during design reviews and drive RFIs to closure, coordinating across disciplines to resolve technical issues and maintain project momentum on schedule.

Qualifications

• Extensive mechanical experience on complex industrial or major capital projects with hands-on field involvement.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, air handling units, ductwork, chillers, mechanical utilities and vendor package integration.
• Confident interpreting mechanical drawings, specs and vendor docs; familiarity with mechanical codes incl. ASHRAE.
• Proven ability to resolve technical issues with designers/contractors and drive actions to closure.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, submittals and vendor information against design intent and project requirements.
• Provide field input to design reviews; verify site conditions and constructability to avoid rework.
• Own package design comments, RFIs, and coordinate approvals through to closure.
• Coordinate HVAC and equipment interfaces with piping, electrical, instrumentation and CSA teams.

Package Owner (Mechanical) – US, North Carolina – Initial 12-Month Contract – Life SciencesBe part of a next-generation pharmaceutical project that’s transforming how medicines are made.
We’re supporting a major new-build facility in North Carolina, a multi-billion-dollar investment designed to push the boundaries of science and engineering. We’re looking for a Package Owner to support this project and help deliver this world-class program.
What You’ll Deliver

• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, submittals and vendor information against design intent and project requirements, including equipment access, installation clearances and maintenance needs.
• Provide field input to design reviews; verify site conditions and identify constructability, installation and maintenance constraints before they cause rework.
• Own package design comments, discrepancies and requests for information (RFIs) through closure; coordinate engineering approval and communicate agreed changes to the field.
• Coordinate HVAC and equipment interfaces with piping, electrical, instrumentation and CSA teams; resolve clashes and package boundary gaps with the relevant disciplines.
• Work with Engineering, Construction, Quality, C&Q and Operations to resolve technical issues and confirm installations reflect approved design and applicable quality requirements.

What you’ll need:

• Extensive relevant mechanical experience on complex industrial or major capital projects, with substantial hands-on field experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of HVAC, air handling units, ductwork, chillers, mechanical utilities, equipment installation and vendor package integration.
• Confident interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications and vendor documentation; working knowledge of applicable mechanical codes and ASHRAE standards.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve technical issues with designers and contractors, coordinate across disciplines and drive actions to completion.
