Job summary

Trinidad Benham in Sterling, CO is seeking a full-time Packaging Operator to read daily production schedules, move packaging materials, and set up packaging equipment per order specifications.

The role involves meeting daily production goals, performing quality checks, and documenting processes. teamwork with supervisors and maintenance is essential for smooth operations and clean GMP/SQF adherence.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand daily production schedules and material requirements.
• Transport packaging materials to the production area.
• Set up and operate packaging equipment according to order specs.
• Meet daily production requirements.
• Perform quality checks on packaging and seals, date codes.
• Document product flow, materials, output, and downtime.
• Troubleshoot packaging problems and adjust equipment as needed.
• Maintain GMP and SQF documentation and clean work area.
• Collaborate with management and maintenance for repairs.

• Read and understand daily production schedules and material requirements.
• Transport needed packaging materials to the production area.
• Set-up and operation of packaging equipment with correct materials and products based on order specifications.
• Meet daily production requirements.
• Perform periodic quality control checks to ensure the product is packaged according to customer requirements (including checking end and back seals and date codes).
• When changing product varieties, follow pre-set guidelines and change out filtering screens based on product variety/size. Set, adjust, and periodically check the product flow through a foreign materials machine. Check the magnet for any foreign materials and document and report as required.
• Accurately complete and maintain required documentation on product, materials/supplies, output, and machine downtime.
• Troubleshoot minor packaging problems and make appropriate adjustments to equipment.
• Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
• Comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Packaging Supervisor or Lead.

Compensation: $17.00 - $19.50 / hour

Education and Formal Training:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic computer skills, including touch screens
