Job summary

FedEx Logistics in New York is seeking a package handler to move packages safely and efficiently within a busy operation. You will operate ramp equipment to load and unload, and perform shuttle duties with a non-articulated vehicle.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work in all weather, and adherence to safety training and FMCSA regulations. English proficiency and timely communication in a noisy environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance from the ground to chest level.
• Able to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. using appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Able to walk and stand for designated work hours.
• Able to bend and squat for designated work hours.
• Able to maneuver packages above shoulder level.
• Ability to maneuver packages in enclosed spaces and stack packages above one's head if required at location.
• Able to work in all weather conditions if required at work location.
• Able to climb stairs and ladders if required at work location.
• Ability to work with power and hand tools.
• Able to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training.
• The ability to communicate both timely and effectively, in a noisy operations environment, is required.
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

• Perform shuttle functions using a non-articulated vehicle.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
