Job summary

FedEx Supply Chain, Inc. in Dallas, TX is seeking a Package Handler to safely load and unload packages, scan items, and maintain productivity metrics. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0–2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to use PC and/or RF-based systems.
  • Familiarity with FedEx shipping software (PScan).
  • Must be prompt and detail oriented.
  • Load - T-stacking and CAN inspection certifications may be required.
  • Strong teamwork is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload packages onto/off trailers by scanning, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 100 lbs.
  • Read labels, verify numbers, and follow work instructions to meet productivity metrics.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, unpacking, and detrashing shipments.
  • Attend safety meetings and report unsafe conditions.
  • Assist in orientation of new hire package handlers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Package Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading packages onto or from trailers by scanning, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items up to 100 pounds. This role requires reading labels, verifying numbers, memorizing instructions, and working rapidly for extended periods. Most tasks are well defined and require general judgment or interpretation. Moderate supervision is provided.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Load and unload packages onto/off of trailers by scanning, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 100 lbs.
  • Read labels, verify numbers, and follow work instructions while meeting productivity metrics.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks including sweeping, unpacking, and detrashing vehicles or shipments.
  • Attend safety meetings and report unsafe working conditions immediately.
  • Assist in orientation of new hire package handlers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0--2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to use PC and/or RF-based computer systems may be required.
  • Knowledge of trailer loading/unloading preferred.
  • Familiarity with FedEx shipping software (PScan) preferred.
  • Promptness and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • May require Dangerous Goods certification and compliance with related shipping requirements.
  • Required to obtain Load - T-stacking certification.
  • Required to obtain CAN inspection certification.
  • Strong team player.
