Job summary

Basic Fun! is seeking a Package Designer to join our Boca Raton-based team. You will work with Creative and Marketing to craft packaging that meets brand objectives for iconic children’s products, collaborating across departments and delivering high-quality designs.

The role requires a strong portfolio, 5+ years in packaging design, and expert Adobe Creative Suite skills, with on-site work at our Boca Raton headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Package Design or related field.
• 5+ years of related packaging design experience.
• A diverse portfolio showing contemporary design.
• Strong knowledge of packaging structure and engineering.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Take conceptual direction and collaborate with Creative and Marketing teams to design packaging.
• Create graphics and packaging independently within brand guidelines.
• Edit images for print, web, and interactive media.
• Generate mocks for pitches and proposals.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while upholding brand standards.

All of us at Basic Fun! are dedicated to enriching lives and creating unforgettable moments through imaginative play.Position Overview:The Package Designer will take conceptual direction and work collaboratively with the Creative team and Marketing partners to create graphics and packaging based on requirements to meet the creative objectives of world class brands and clients, as well as inhouse projects. Contribute by suggesting fresh ideas, designing mockups, delivering quality design work, and being a hands-on team player. Basic Package Engineering and hand skills are required.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Help to manage Basic Fun!'s brand and design, building an exciting and cohesive look across company collateralCreates graphics and packaging independently and take direction in a team based environmentEdits image for print, web, and interactive mediumsGenerates mocks for pitching and proposalsPrioritizes and manages multiple projects at onceContributes to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as neededAdheres to specifications and direction outlined by the creative director and clientUnderstands and adhere to Basic Fun!'s standards of designIncorporates changes recommended by the client and creative director, and amend designs after feedbackUnderstands the importance of following a brand guide document to ensure that assets are on brand, on strategy, and accurately executed based on approved assets and style guidelinesMaintains a high level of knowledge and skill with all computer software related to the design and production of packaged goods and graphicsEnsures and maintains a positive environment with team membersSkills, knowledge and abilities:Bachelor's degree in Package Design or related field or equivalentA minimum of 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experienceHave a diverse creative portfolio that showcases an in depth understanding of contemporary design practices.Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and lnDesignAmazing attention to detailManage time and work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, multi-project environmentHave an excellent understanding of design fundamentals including layout and compositionDesire to learn and contribute in a creative, collaborative environmentAbility to interact with team members and other departmentsUnderstanding of package structure and engineeringAbility to travel, as neededBasic creative hand skills as requiredPackaging/Graphic design: 5 years (Preferred)Adobe Illustrator: 5 yearsAdobe Photoshop: 5 yearsAdobe lnDesign: 1 year (Preferred)Full-time on-site position located at our company’s headquarter offices in Boca Raton, Florida.We believe strongly in the philosophy that we are Better Together and that the collaboration and teamwork of being with each other in the office supports our culture the best.
