Job summary

Jazwares is seeking a Packaging Designer to develop compelling packaging across licensed and non-licensed product lines, elevating brand presence in diverse retail settings. You will partner with the Brand team and Design Manager to ensure packaging aligns with brand goals and licensing guidelines.

With 3+ years in packaging design, you will create innovative concepts, render visuals, and ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency through production.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in packaging design.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Google Workspace.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, layout, typography, and branding guides.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong visual quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative packaging concepts, structures, and high-quality renders for retail presentations and internal reviews.
  • Uphold brand integrity by aligning with graphics standards and photo retouching.
  • Evaluate designs for fit, structure, cost, manufacturability, and transport feasibility.
  • Collaborate with Brand team to translate objectives into packaging designs within licensor guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Product Managers and Asia packaging team to ensure seamless execution from concept to production.
  • Review print proofs, pilots, and pre-production samples for quality before mass production.
  • Modify and create accurate packaging die-lines.
  • Monitor industry trends to contribute fresh design solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

As the Packaging Designer, you will develop visually compelling packaging across both licensed and non-licensed product lines, delivering innovative design solutions that elevate brand presence and engage consumers across diverse retail environments! Working closely with the Brand team and your Design Manager, you will ensure that all of your designs perfectly align with overarching brand goals and objectives. You must possess a high level of initiative and be self-guided to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. What You Will Do:

Develop innovative and functional packaging concepts, structural designs, and high-quality renders to support retail presentations and internal reviews

Uphold brand integrity by ensuring alignment with established graphics standards, layout principles, and photo retouching to meet packaging objectives

Evaluate package designs for fit, structure, function, material selection, cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and transportation feasibility

Collaborate closely with the Brand team to translate objectives into compelling packaging designs that meet internal goals and strict licensor guidelines

Partner cross-functionally with internal teams, Product Managers, and the Asia packaging team to ensure seamless execution from concept through production

Review and approve print proofs, final engineering pilots (FEPs), and pre-production samples to ensure quality and accuracy before mass production

Modify and create accurate packaging die-lines

Proactively monitor packaging industry trends, materials, and technologies to contribute fresh, innovative design solutions

Perform other duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For:

3+ years of professional experience in packaging design

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator and Photoshop) and Google Workspace (G-Suite)

Strong understanding of design principles, layout composition, typography, and applying strict branding style guides

Exceptional attention to detail with a keen eye for visual quality and aesthetics

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional departments

Highly organized, accountable, and proactive problem-solver who is comfortable adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have:
  • Associate's degree in Design, Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or a related field is a plus
  • Experience in consumer goods, specifically within the toy or entertainment industry
  • Prior experience with trade show and retail displays

The base salary may vary based on experience, role tenure, performance, industry, and location. Eligibility for the annual performance incentive may apply. Jazwares is a multi-state employer, so the salary range may not apply to other states.
