Job summary

ofi North America (Olam Food Ingredients) in Bayonne, NJ is seeking a Material Handler to support production operations on site. You will pack finished goods, move supplies, and keep the area clean while following GMP/SQF standards.

Responsibilities include delivering jars and caps to lines, completing paperwork, and adhering to the production schedule. The role requires teamwork, a positive attitude, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • GMP experience preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Pack finished product in cases/boxes after product has been determined to be in perfect conditions.
  • General housekeeping, maintaining a clean and orderly work area to be in compliance with GMP and SQF Food Safety standards.
  • Supply products, jars, and caps to assigned production line.
  • Keep all work area in compliance with housekeeping guidelines and free of any object that might contaminate product.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Responsible for use of correct packaging material and printing of labels.
  • Has good communication skills with co-workers.
  • Responsible for adherence to the production schedule
  • Follow/Lead/Demonstrate Olam’s Safety and Quality principles
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.

Job Description

Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Preferred food manufacturing environment
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience preferred
  • Ability to work with positive attitude in a high stress environment
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexible availability to work Saturdays due to business needs

The pay for this role in the state of NJ is $17.65/hr and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location
