Job summary

Ardent Mills in Mount Pocono, PA is seeking a Pack Operator to manage daily pack operations, schedule coordination, and inventory control. You will work with the scheduler, production supervisor, and maintenance team to ensure timely packaging and order fulfillment.

Job description

As Pack Operator you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the pack equipment, including flour scheduling, shipping and receiving, inventory control, maintenance and sanitation. The pack operator works with the scheduler to coordinate packing and shipping dates of scheduled orders as well as to communicate flour needs for packing. The pack operator also works with the production supervisor in the inventorying and ordering of packaging materials and the maintenance manager to discuss on preventative and reactive maintenance issues as well as material requests and scheduling repair days.

Your responsibilities:

• Operate packer and palletizer equipment.
• Load/unload trucks.
• Maintain daily inventories.
• Update flour schedule status.
• Prepare daily production report.
• Prepare COA’s for load orders.
• Warehouse sanitation.
• Flour testing.
• Preventative maintenance.
• All other tasks necessary assigned by supervisor.

Essential skills and experience:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Good communication skills, both verbal and written

Effectively use computer applications

Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Prior experience with packaging equipment

• Line set up
• Trouble shooting
• Quality control (sampling, testing)

Good to have:

Mechanical Aptitude

Prior experience with manufacturing equipment

Experience operating mobile equipment including forklift, yard tractor, bobcat or Track Mobile; will train, as needed.

Inventory control

Sanitation experience

Physical abilities test:

• Frequently stand, walk, rotate,bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reachor lift at shoulder level,above shoulder level,and below shoulder level
• Frequentlyclimb stairs and/or ladders
• Occasionally lift/shovel/carry up to55 pounds
• Occasionally push up to 200 pounds of force
• Occasionally pull/torque up to 210 pounds of force

Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.

Competitive Compensation:

We provide market-driven base pay, based on skills, abilities, and level of experiences. Our salary ranges are broad, and individual salary will be market competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of skills and level of experience. The starting range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00, with additional earning potential possible commensurate with experience. Additionally, we believe that our team members are the reason for our success and all team members are incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and individual results achieved. While the specific bonus plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions, the targeted bonus plan and targeted percentage amount for this role is Bonus - OIP, 5% Annual.
