Brightfarms is seeking a packaging supervisor to coordinate the daily packaging plan and pack crew in a safe, efficient manner. You will enforce food safety protocols, follow SOPs, and maintain proper records of testing and charts according to company and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities include supervising the pack crew to meet daily goals, training on procedures, reporting irregularities to supervisors, and ensuring a clean, organized work area with regular sanitation.

Formación

• 1+ years in a production environment or related work experience
• Food or agriculture industry experience preferred
• Training in Food Safety and Sanitation
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, safety rules, label mixing instructions
• Ability to fulfill routine logs related to food safety and inspection reports, either in paperwork or digital form
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers

Responsabilidades

• Ensure accurate record keeping of performed testing and recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory guidelines
• Ensure pack crew maintains a safe, clean, organized work area and performs periodic sanitation as required
• Report food safety and quality problems to Supervisor, the SQF Practitioner or directly to Senior Management.

Job purpose

Working Conditions

Coolers/Warehouse/Greenhouse. Employees will work mostly in cooler temperatures ranging between 35-55degrees. Employees will have some exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Often working near moving mechanical parts. There will be exposure to cleaning chemicals. The noise level of machines and cooling units can be loud. All safety gear will be provided, and expected to be used, for conditions involving extreme weather, noise and chemical exposure.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to constantly use hands to finger, handle or feel, as well as talk and hear. There is frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and on a rotating basis constantly lift up to 10 pounds. The employee should have clear correctable vision at close and distance range, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards.
