Job summary

ILG Greenhouse LLC in Yorkville, IL is seeking a Pack Lead for the overnight 2nd shift. You will supervise the pack crew, coordinate the daily packaging plan, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

This role emphasizes adhering to food safety protocols, documenting tests and logs, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Training will be provided to ensure procedures are followed, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, safety rules
• Ability to fulfill routine logs related to food safety and inspection reports
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers

Responsibilities

• Supervise pack crew in daily operations to ensure daily plan and goals are met, corrects errors and provides feedback when needed
• Train and educate crew in operating procedures with emphasis on safety and food safety
• Adhere to all current SOP’s, procedures, inspections, and quality requirements
• Communicate with supervisor when irregularities with product or equipment occur
• Create daily packaging plan under guidance of supervisor and make decisions as instructed
• Ensure accurate record keeping of performed testing and recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory guidelines
• Ensure pack crew maintains a safe, clean, organized work area and performs periodic sanitation as required
• Report food safety and quality problems to Supervisor, the SQF Practitioner or directly to Senior Management.

Job purpose:

Working Conditions:

Coolers/Warehouse/Greenhouse. Employees will work mostly in cooler temperatures ranging between 35-55degrees. Employees will have some exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Often working near moving mechanical parts. There will be exposure to cleaning chemicals. The noise level of machines and cooling units can be loud. All safety gear will be provided, and expected to be used, for conditions involving extreme weather, noise and chemical exposure.

Physical requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to constantly use hands to finger, handle or feel, as well as talk and hear. There is frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and on a rotating basis constantly lift up to 10 pounds. The employee should have clear correctable vision at close and distance range, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards.
