Job summary

Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. is seeking a Regional Agronomist to support the Crop Nutrition and Tiger-Sul sales teams across the Pacific Northwest. You will apply your expertise in specialty fertilizers to identify cropping needs, design field trials, and support customers with best management practices.

The role emphasizes collaboration with universities, researchers, and sales colleagues to develop technically sound marketing messages and reliable product recommendations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in crop science, soil science, or agronomy preferred or a bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of related field experience.
• Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) license or willingness to obtain within one year.
• Strong communication skills in English; read, write, and present technical information to individuals and groups.
• Knowledge of specialty fertilizer products, including nitrogen stabilizers.
• Knowledge of 4R Nutrient Stewardship, precision agriculture, and emerging fertilizer technologies.
• Experience in agronomic research and understanding of statistics and experimental design.
• Familiarity with TKICrop Nutrition and Tiger-Sul products and competitors’ offerings.
• Working knowledge of customer segments and needs in crops and input practices.

Responsibilities

• Identify fertilization needs using TKICrop Nutrition and Tiger-Sul products for the regional cropping systems.
• Design and implement field testing and demonstration trials to fill knowledge gaps supporting sales and marketing.
• Establish relationships with university and private researchers.
• Visit locations to evaluate research quality.
• Collaborate with TKICrop Nutrition and Tiger-Sul Sales Team, Agronomists, and Marketing to develop sound marketing messages.
• Provide technical support for customers and end-users for product positioning.
• Research competitors’ product offerings and evaluate potential licensing or new products.
• Engage with researchers to support trials, validate performance, and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Monitor competitive activity by maintaining relationships with fertilizer and crop protection personnel to understand market dynamics.
• Strengthen distributor and customer relationships through technical support, training, product education, and field-based troubleshooting.
