Job summary

UNOPS is seeking a Country Engagement Specialist (Pacific) to lead country engagement for the NDC Partnership Support Unit. You will identify country needs, match to available support and partners, and strengthen relationships with government focal points and in-country partners.

You will monitor engagement strategies, plan missions, and support resource mobilization, with emphasis on Pacific Small Island Developing States and regional institutions. English required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience; alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience.
• Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead country engagement efforts, developing understanding of NDC implementation contexts and support mechanisms.
• Guide focal points through the request-for-support process, prepare concept notes, and conduct quality assurance.
• Match country needs with Partnership services and facilitate access to funding opportunities.
• Strengthen relationships with country focal points and in-country partners to ensure understanding of Partnership processes.
• Plan and report on country missions, represent the team in external meetings, and align with Regional Manager.
• Collaborate with other teams to develop integrated solutions and manage information in systems.
