Job summary

PACE Systems seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead the execution of technically complex construction projects across advanced facilities and controlled environments. You will oversee budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, field coordination, and client relationships to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Project Manager – Advanced Facilities & Controlled Environments

LOCATION: Hybrid

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager – Advanced Facilities & Controlled Environments is responsible for the successful execution and delivery of technically complex construction projects from project award through closeout. This position manages project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, field coordination, client relationships, and overall project performance to ensure successful outcomes.

The Project Manager works closely with clients, field leadership, subcontractors, suppliers, engineering teams, and company leadership to safely deliver projects that meet quality, schedule, and financial objectives.

A strong background in Metal Studs and Drywall Commercial construction is a plus and translatable to this position - candidates from highly reputable Commercial Construction Self-Perform Interiors Companies are encouraged to apply.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

Limited travel may be required for client meetings, site visits, bid walks, project reviews, and industry events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Execution & Leadership
  • Lead projects from award through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and long-lead material strategies.
  • Manage project documentation and contract compliance.
  • Lead project turnover, commissioning, and closeout activities.
Financial Management
  • Monitor project profitability and financial performance.
  • Manage cost controls, forecasting, and budget reporting.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices and payment applications.
  • Manage change orders, claims, and project risk mitigation efforts.
  • Maintain accurate project financial records and reporting.
Field Coordination
  • Coordinate activities between field supervision, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Support construction planning and work sequencing.
  • Monitor productivity and project progress.
  • Develop corrective action and recovery plans when necessary.
  • Ensure resources are effectively deployed to support project success.
Advanced Facilities & Controlled Environments
  • Manage projects involving cleanrooms, controlled environments, advanced manufacturing facilities, semiconductor facilities, pharmaceutical facilities, life sciences facilities, mission critical infrastructure, and data centers.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process utility, and specialty systems.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and technical requirements.
  • Facilitate coordination between engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning teams.
Client Relations & Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings and executive-level project reviews.
  • Communicate project status, risks, opportunities, and financial performance.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business opportunities.
Safety & Quality
  • Promote and support all company and project-specific safety initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company and customer safety requirements.
  • Support quality management processes and inspections.
  • Verify project execution aligns with contract documents and quality standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
CORE COMPETENCIES
Experience & Technical Knowledge
  • Minimum 5-10 years of construction project management experience.
  • Experience managing commercial, industrial, manufacturing, mission critical, or specialty construction projects.

  • Construction management certifications such as PMP, CCM, CM-Lean, or equivalent are a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Professional office environment and active commercial/industrial construction sites.
  • Advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, life sciences, mission critical, controlled environment, and cleanroom facilities.
  • Combination of office-based planning, estimating, and field-based project management responsibilities.
  • Occasional travel and site visits required based on project assignments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
