Job summary

The Duke University Physician Assistant Program seeks a Student Development Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and implement preclinical curriculum activities, student services, and accreditation-related initiatives.

Reporting to the Administrative Manager, you will supervise staff, manage calendars and events, coordinate training, and ensure compliance with BLS, vaccinations, and exams, with a hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week.

Qualifications

  • This position requires strong organizational, project management, and communication skills typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Candidates must have at least three years of experience planning, coordinating, and implementing complex programs, projects, or events.
  • Experience providing direct supervision is strongly preferred, including assigning and reviewing work, supporting employee development, coaching staff, and managing performance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with educational and administrative technology platforms is also strongly preferred, including Canvas, ExamSoft, SharePoint, Zoom, Microsoft Office applications, Qualtrics, and Box.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preclinical curriculum operations with the Director of Preclinical Education, Administrative Manager, and faculty course coordinators.
  • Prepare budgets and manage expenses associated with curriculum delivery.
  • Oversee Canvas course sites to support student access to course materials, assessments, and learning resources.
  • Lead and supervise administrative support personnel, student workers, and temporary employees.
  • Support student onboarding and program events, including graduation ceremonies and White Coat Ceremony.
