Job summary

OrthoCarolina Spine Center in Charlotte seeks a Physician Assistant - Non-Surgical Spine to provide medical care as delegated by physicians. You will assist in offices and clinics, evaluating patients with a range of orthopedic injuries and illnesses.

You will perform exams, order and interpret tests, and implement management plans. Orthopedics experience is preferred but not required, with a regular on-site schedule and contributing to continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program.
• Current North Carolina PA license.
• Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Prior experience as a physician assistant preferred.
• Prior experience in orthopedics preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests (x-ray, ECG, labs) and interprets results with surgeons.
• Performs injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and applies/removes casts and immobilization devices.
• Develops and implements patient management plans and maintains progress notes.
• Dictates records including discharge summaries and operative notes; documents care in patient records.
