Overview

Job Duties

An Advanced Practice Provider IV (APP IV) is a licensed direct patient care provider in Florida and/or Georgia, providing medical services within their scope of practice under physician supervision. This role primarily involves inpatient and/or critical care, Labor & Delivery, and/or emergency department settings, with >50% inpatient hospital-based work.

Responsibilities
  • Performs or assists with complex procedures in various clinical settings; may perform first assist functions in surgery; call coverage may be required.
  • Participates in meetings, team functions, and interdisciplinary committees.
  • Cares for patients with neuroendovascular conditions, including acute strokes and SAH, in critical care and outpatient settings.
  • Opportunity to assist in neuroendovascular procedures.
  • Monitors and manages medical/invasive devices, manages pre/post-operative and pre/post-procedure patient care.
  • Conducts evaluations, physical exams, orders studies, diagnoses, and stabilizes patients.
  • Develops health management plans collaboratively, documents care accurately, and facilitates patient participation in decisions.
  • Contributes to program development, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Enters clinical information promptly and accurately in the EMR, complies with billing guidelines.
  • Provides patient education and counseling, manages discharge planning, and schedules procedures.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience: 2+ years in Critical Care, Labor & Delivery, ED, or OR preferred.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Master's in Nursing Practitioner or Physician Assistant program required.

Licensure & Certifications: APRN licensure or PA licensure in FL/GA, BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred. DEA acquisition within 90 days for new orthopedics grads. Travel up to 25%.
