Job summary

University of Michigan in Ann Arbor seeks a Physician Assistant to support the Interventional Radiology - Cross-Sectional division. The role collaborates with physicians to deliver diagnostic and therapeutic services across cross-sectional radiology, including pre/post care and image-guided procedures.

The PA will perform a broad range of procedures, assist during interventions, manage patient assessments, and participate in documentation, education, and research activities.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• ,

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of the cross-sectional interventional division, pre/post procedure care and scheduling.
• Provide telephone triage and case evaluation for referring services, patients, and families.
• Assist/first assist physician in interventional procedures, including intraoperative ablations.
• Perform patient evaluations and consents prior to procedures (biopsies, drain placements, ablations, etc.).
• Independently perform image-guided procedures (drain placements, biopsies, injections).
• Write pre/post procedure notes and orders.
• Monitor inventory of interventional equipment.
• Educate patients on outpatient care of abdominal/pelvic drains.
• Triage/post-procedure complication queries.
• Participate in CSIR consult service and develop patient education materials.
• Coordinate outpatient discharge and write orders.
