Job summary

PPL Electric Utilities is seeking a PA Engineering Co-op (full-time, on-site hybrid) based in Allentown, PA, to support the transmission and distribution grid projects from January to August. The program provides exposure to engineering departments and hands-on experience across asset management, design, field, and operations.

You will work under a supervisor, complete meaningful assignments, and present results to PPL leaders.

Qualifications

Available in person full time (35-40 hr./week M-F) during the program dates.
Travel within the service territory required.
Possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence.
Enrolled on a full-time basis (12 semester hours) in a curriculum leading to a baccalaureate or master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, civil engineering.
Minimum GPA of 2.50.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities for improvement in the Transmission and Distribution grid.
Gather, correlate, and analyze data using established procedures.
Perform detailed engineering calculations, tests and analyses.
Support operating and maintenance functions with engineering analysis and problem solving.
Assist Engineers with large projects and development of goals, budgets, and procedures.
Plan activities to ensure an accident-free workplace and regulatory compliance.
