Job summary

MultiCare Cancer Institute within MultiCare Health System seeks a Medical Oncology Physician Assistant to join a well‑established oncology practice in the Pacific Northwest. You will work with oncologists, nurses and other specialists to deliver evidence‑based cancer care across a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a WA PA license, DEA/NPI and prescriptive authority, and BLS certification. A collaborative, patient‑centered care environment with comprehensive resources is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Active WA PA license by start date.
• DEA, NPI and prescriptive authority required.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized oncology care, including systemic therapies.
• Coordinate cancer patient care across disciplines and support survivorship planning.

Practicing within a Commission on Cancer (CoC)-accredited comprehensive cancer program, you’ll play a vital role in delivering patient‑centered, evidence‑based care as part of a multidisciplinary oncology team.

Requirements

• Provides specialized care for patients undergoing cancer treatment, including administering systemic therapies such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted agents.
• Assess and manage treatment‑related symptoms.
• Coordinate care across disciplines, and support patients through education, counseling, and survivorship planning.
• Work alongside oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other specialists to coordinate holistic patient care.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Offer clear guidance on follow up care, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications to support informed decision‑making.
• Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Document all patient interactions and clinical decisions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Stay current with oncology best practices, emerging therapies, and clinical guidelines through continuing education and training.

Responsibilities

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
• Washington State Physician Assistant license by the time of employment
• DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $168,000.00 - $182,000.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
