Job Description

The primary responsibility of the accounting and business tutor is to provide one-on-one or group support to students who are currently enrolled in accounting and business courses. The tutor's work is informed by best practices and the mission of TASC.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic assignments.
  • Demonstrating academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments, including research and writing.
  • Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
  • Providing students positive and constructive feedback.
  • Building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Attending staff meetings several times each semester.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related area is required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to work with a faculty, staff, and student population.
  • The tutor is needed three weekdays 9am to 5pm in-person on the Charlestown campus.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • 1+ years of tutoring or related experience preferred.
Additional Information

Salary: $35.31 an hour at 18.5 hours a week. Part-Time Non-Benefited position.
