Job summary

Cambridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare foods according to production sheets and recipes, ensure proper temperatures, and maintain clean, organized work areas.

You will label leftovers, serve trays, follow menu guidelines, and coordinate with the first cook; a uniform is required, and opportunities for professional growth and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Experience with large-scale cooking is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic nutritional values and therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

• Must report to work in full uniform.
• Prepare foods according to production sheets and recipes.
• Label and date leftover foods and store properly.
• Serve tray line with correct portions per the menu.
• Maintain safe food temperatures and sanitize work areas.
• Communicate with the cooks to meet production needs.
• Attend meetings or in-service as required.
• Lock up at night and perform other duties as requested.

Responsibilities

• Must report to work in full uniform
• Responsible for correct diets and Texture modifications as per menu
• Responsible for labeling and dating leftover foods
• Responsible for Pleasing appearance and taste in food
• Prepare foods according to production sheets and recipes
• Assures foods are properly stored (pre and post cooking)
• Assures food reach and maintain a safe temperatureServe tray line, ensure proper portion control/serving sizes according to the menu
• Communicates with the first and second cook to meet production needs within establishment standards
• Cleans and sanitizes work area as needed
• Attend meeting &/or in-service, as required
• Communicates with first and second cook for effective coordination of tasks
• Responsible for locking up at night
• Other duties as requested by Food Service Manager and the first cook

Qualifications

Must be able to read and write English, follow written or spoken instruction. Working knowledge of the operation, cleaning and care equipment and kitchen area. Basic knowledge of nutritional values of various foods within the food groups. Must be familiar with therapeutic diets, likes and dislike of the patients

Experience

One year experience in large- scale cooking.
