Job summary

Cambridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dietary staff member to support meal preparation and service in a hospital-like setting. You will review menus, assist with diet planning, and ensure meals are prepared and served on time, while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

The role requires a High School/GED and may prefer 1 year of dietary experience in a medical facility. A Serve Safe certificate is required to apply, and the team places emphasis on reliability and

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required.
  • 1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility preferred.
  • Serve Safe certificate required to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Review menu prior to meal preparation.
  • Assist in planning regular and special diet menus per sanitary regulations.
  • Assist in establishing food service production to ensure timely meals.
  • Prepare meals that are palatable and visually appealing.
  • Prepare food according to recipes and special diets.
  • Serve food with established portion control.
  • Coordinate dietary services with other departments.
  • Assist in inventorying and storing incoming food and supplies.
  • Ensure food items are stored, covered and dated in refrigerators.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safe operation of equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining food storage areas.
  • Report hazardous conditions to the Food Service Director.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

May include all or part of the following but not limited to:

  • Review menu prior to preparation of food.
  • Assist in planning regular and special diet menus in accordance with sanitary regulations
  • Assist in establishing food service production to assure that meals are prepared on time
  • Prepare meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
  • Prepare food in accordance with recipes and special diets
  • Prepare substitute foods
  • Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
  • Coordinate dietary services with other departments as necessary
  • Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc. as necessary
  • Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available
  • Make sure that all food items are properly stored, covered and dated in all refrigerators in the kitchen, remove out dated food items in accordance to the policies & procedures of the department.
  • Ensure that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment are maintained
  • Assist maintain food storage areas in a clean andproperly arranged manner at all times
  • Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the FSD or designee.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Qualifications & Requirements:High School/ GED

1 year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred but not required. Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
