Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking a Mechanical Designer in Moss Point, MS to develop and maintain P&IDs for industrial processes. The role requires 5–10 years of experience in P&ID development and proficiency with AutoCAD, working onsite in a fast-paced team environment.

The candidate will collaborate with engineers, ensure regulatory compliance, and produce comprehensive P&ID documentation, including as-built drawings after construction. This is a 6-month engagement in a hands-on design setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of mechanical design experience focused on P&ID development.
• Proficiency in P&ID software (AutoCAD).
• Deep understanding of industrial processes, equipment, instrumentation.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards for P&ID.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accurate P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Create and update P&IDs using AutoCAD for piping and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with mechanical/process engineers to meet design specs.
• Generate detailed P&ID documentation with symbols and asset naming.
• Ensure safety regs and project standards compliance.
• Select piping materials, valves, instruments per requirements.
• Manage P&ID revisions and change notifications.
• Review P&ID accuracy and alignment with project goals.
• Create as-built P&IDs after construction based on field data.
• Clearly communicate design concepts to team and stakeholders.
• Provide training and support to junior drafters.
