Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Iron Mountain, MI is seeking a Part-Time P&C Commissioning Specialist to perform acceptance testing and pre-commissioning of protection and control equipment in the factory.

You will apply protective relay and RTU settings, document results, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams while staying current with industry practices.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (required).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical/electronic testing and design techniques (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, problem solving, time management and organizational skills (required).
• Good oral and written communication skills and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Apply protective relay settings and perform testing to validate proper function.
• Apply RTU settings and verify status, metering, and control functions.
• Execute testing procedures to ensure P&C design is applied and functioning as intended.
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve when deficiencies are identified.
• Document testing results completely according to internal and customer requirements.
• Keep up-to-date with utility industry trends and training opportunities.
• Notify designers and engineers of deficiencies identified during testing.
• Identify potential process improvements and collaborate with other team members.
• Provide technical support to engineering, manufacturing and test departments.
