Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Test Engineer, Oxygen within the Development Test team to design, fabricate and operate test hardware for Starship's high‑pressure oxygen systems.

Responsibilities include developing tests at material, component and subsystem levels, enabling safe and reliable testing, and coordinating with design engineers to qualify test stands and flight hardware in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical or related engineering field.
• 1+ years hands-on testing experience (internships or clubs qualify).
• Experience with high‑pressure oxidizer systems or propellants is a plus.
• Ability to read technical manuals and data reports.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute tests at material, component and subsystem levels to evaluate hardware performance and survivability.
• Design, fabricate and operationalize test capabilities to assess material/component flammability in high pressure oxygen environments.
• Provide daily direction to technicians and manage test campaigns from plan to data review.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, sequences, scripts, and software.
