Job summary

The Drexel company is seeking a Truss Designer to transform architectural visions into precise truss systems. You’ll read complex drawings, calculate structural loads, and generate accurate manufacturing designs and field layouts for wall, roof, and floor systems.

As the bridge between plans, manufacturing, and field crews, you will ensure structural integrity and seamless execution from design software to job site assembly while staying current with codes and software updates.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret architectural/structural drawings for roof, wall, and floor systems.
• Apply structural load transfer concepts to ensure code-compliant designs.
• Produce clear manufacturing drawings and field layouts for production and installation.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings to design and layout roof, wall, and floor systems.
• Provide engineering support and perform load analyses.
• Create manufacturing files and detailed field installation layouts.
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies early in the process.
• Maintain direct communication with production teams, installers, and clients.
• Stay current with building codes and software updates (MiTek, iStruct).
