Job summary

Validation & Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking a talented owner-side project engineer to support the BPBH brownfield expansion in a 24/7 GMP facility. You will coordinate with the GC, oversee PTW, walkdowns, safety, and tie-ins, while reviewing A/E drawings and maintaining as-built records.

You will build process-engineering expertise, support commissioning and startup, and liaise between GC, A/E, and site operations to ensure production is uninterrupted during construction.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-7 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech or industrial capital projects.
• Experience with brownfield construction in an operating facility and permit-to-work systems.
• Biologics process systems familiarity (buffer prep/hold tanks, process skids, HEX, CIP/SIP).
• GMP awareness and ability to work in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Fluency in English and Spanish with excellent oral skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Prior commissioning/CQV field-support experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as owner's representative for the process equipment package during brownfield construction; oversee GC and subcontractors for scope, monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
• Own permit-to-work coordination and issuance for process construction activities; enforce segregation from live manufacturing and coordinate shutdowns with site operations.
• Conduct field walkdowns, inspections, and punch-list creation; verify installed work matches design and site standards before turnover.
• Support construction safety evaluations and site safety plan adherence; ensure GC compliance with EHS requirements.
• Act as liaison between GC, A/E (Fluor), site operations, and Process Lead; ensure non-disruptive production during construction.
• Assist in reviewing A/E deliverables and GC submittals; participate in design reviews with Process Lead and A/E.
