Job summary

Hunt, Guillot & Associates LLC is seeking a Project Engineer to support a major capital construction project. You will act as Owner's engineering representative, coordinating interfaces and technical decisions across multiple disciplines.

From detailed engineering through construction, commissioning, turnover and closeout, you will resolve technical issues while aligning with scope, cost, schedule and safety objectives.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required or related technical background.
• 3+ years in engineering or project execution in heavy industrial environments.
• Experience coordinating with engineering firms, EPCs, vendors and contractors.
• Field or in-plant experience with constructability, operability and maintainability.
• Knowledge of deliverables, construction, procurement, project controls, RFIs/submittals and change management.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 and document management systems preferred.
• Ability to work in an industrial construction environment with field walkdowns.
• Willingness to work alternative shifts during startup, commissioning or critical activities.
• TWIC preferred/required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Owner's Project Engineer for assigned systems or work packages.
• Coordinate engineering interfaces, scope and design decisions across disciplines.
• Review vendor documentation, submittals, QA/QC docs and construction work packages.
• Manage technical queries, RFIs, design clarifications, and field changes.
• Support constructability reviews, 3D model reviews and field design changes.
• Assist procurement with technical requisitions, bid packages and vendor evaluations.
• Provide field engineering support during construction and site walkdowns.
• Coordinate with contractors to resolve conflicts in piping, electrical, and other areas.
• Support commissioning, turnover and project closeout activities.
• Coordinate with project controls to monitor progress, cost, schedule and risks.
• Identify schedule and cost impacts and support recovery planning.
• Participate in safety, PHA/HAZOP, and operational readiness activities.
