Description This is seeking an Owner's Authorized Representative I to oversee school construction projects in Los Angeles. The role includes managing the entire project lifecycle from preconstruction through completion, ensuring budget and schedule adherence.
Qualified candidates will have at least 10 years of relevant experience, including large project management, and a degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management. The compensation ranges from $180,000 to $197,000 annually, with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and an employee stock ownership plan.
LAUSD runs one of the largest public school construction programs in the country, all of it under Division of the State Architect (DSA) oversight. As an Owner's Authorized Representative I, you represent the District on assigned school projects and lead them from preconstruction through bid and award, construction, and closeout.
You own the budget and schedule and hold them to the District's standards, monitoring the budget monthly so it reflects real status. You manage the contractor day to day, review schedules and submittals, respond to RFCs, and negotiate change order proposals to a fair and reasonable price, keeping the design team, public agencies, and District staff coordinated.
You see projects all the way through DSA certification and financial closeout, and you keep upper management informed with clear status and progress reporting along the way.
Salary range: $180,000 to $197,000 per year, based on experience.
Benefits: health, dental, and vision at low cost; 401k; three weeks of PTO; and an ESOP (employee stock ownership) at no cost to you, with a 3% Safe Harbor contribution vested on day one.
