Job summary

talisman is partnering with an established proprietary trading firm to search for a Portfolio Manager to run risk on their own capital. This is a risk-taking seat with full autonomy over your book, including positioning and sizing across your chosen products.

New York or Chicago based, with a competitive base and a meaningful profit split on what you generate. The structure is flat with a short decision chain and no client business or franchise flow.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of profitable P&L in USD.
• Experience running your own risk, not just executing for others.
• Strong data fluency and comfort with execution tooling.
• Track record under high-pressure, results-driven settings.

Responsibilities

• Run your own book and risk with full discretion over strategy and sizing.
• Take directional and relative value positions across chosen products.
• Manage real-time risk: sizing, hedging and exposure adjustments.
• Develop and scale strategies with no fixed house model.
