Job summary

YSS in Cambridge, IA, seeks a compassionate Residential Overnight Specialist to support youth ages 12–18 on their recovery journey. You will help maintain a safe, structured overnight environment, build trust, and provide consistent routines.

This role emphasizes calm presence, crisis de-escalation, medication administration oversight, and collaboration with the treatment team. On-call rotation, valid license, and age 21+ are required; benefits include health insurance, PTO, and retirement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience caring for adolescents.
• On-call rotation availability.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to transport clients as needed.
• Must be 21 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, calm overnight environment for youth in recovery.
• Supervise evening, overnight, and morning routines.
• Monitor behavior, perform room checks, and document events.
• Respond to crises and notify on-call staff.
• Administer medications and ensure medical attention when needed.
• Communicate overnight updates to the treatment team.
• Transport participants as needed.
