Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred with specialty in psychology, counseling, or social work
• Must have at least 3-5 years of experience working with youth with significant mental health or behavioral challenges, preferably in a residential care setting
• Creative, energetic problem-solver with a passion for working with young people; overnight schedule
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License, clean driving record; obtain and pass required background clearances

Responsibilities

• Perform rounds to engage with youth in their home environment, facilitate activities, provide counseling and support
• Provide crisis intervention and on-site counseling to residents
• Maintain supervision of the house; enforce rules and ensure safety; inspect building and rooms routinely
• Assist with conflict management between residents; de-escalate and document incidents
• Coordinate with medical or government personnel as needed; complete required documentation
• Demonstrate proficiency in emergency procedures and drills
• Complete paperwork including 30-minute increment logs of rounds and activities
• Produce legible notes and documentation of observations and incidents
• Maintain office coverage and thorough written documentation of calls and visitors
• Occasionally perform light janitorial duties and report maintenance needs
• Assist with shift coverage when staff gaps occur
• Participate in annual licensing training (40 hours) and regular supervision
• Keep all clearances up to date
• Other duties as assigned
