Job summary

Outreach Development Corp. in Ridgewood, NY seeks an Overnight Counselor to oversee health and welfare of residents in a program for chemically dependent clients with co‑occurring and mental health issues.

You will be part of an interdisciplinary treatment team and work overnight at Outreach House 1 for Adolescents. The role requires careful paperwork, nightly reporting, health checks, and crisis intervention.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience working with clients with substance abuse disorders.
• 1 year of experience working with adolescents with co‑occurring and mental health problems.
• 1 year of experience in an OASAS funded facility is a plus.
• CASAC-T or CASAC credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• File all paperwork on a nightly basis.
• Perform closing runs and document findings in reporting systems.
• Screen residents and belongings returning from passes and appointments.
• Conduct health and welfare checks per unit policy.
• Supervise clients in self‑medication under supervision.
• Participate in individual and group supervision.
• Communicate incidents and emergencies to appropriate logs and supervisors.
• Handle crisis interventions and follow up with incident reports.
