Job summary

The Children’s Home of Reading in Reading, PA seeks a dedicated Youth Behavioral Specialist for the 3rd shift (10:00pm-6:00am). You’ll maintain safety, document behaviors in EHR, and supervise residents during activities, classrooms, and community outings to promote a positive, structured environment.

Responsibilities include behavior modification implementation, shift notes, health checks, and ensuring a compliant, supportive atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or any human services field (highly preferred).
  • Associate’s degree with at least one year of experience working with youth (accepted).
  • High school diploma or GED with one year of experience working with youth (accepted).
  • Pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety and security of residents and facility.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) to document resident behaviors and safety checks.
  • Complete daily shift notes, activity notes, and communication logs.
  • Supervise residents during activities and academic instruction.
  • Oversee resident health and hygiene; perform room searches per policy.
  • Transport clients in company vehicles as needed.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures; participate in required trainings.
  • Work on all residential units and educational placements.
