Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, FL seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging studies with accuracy and care. You will operate CT, MRI, X-ray, mammography, ultrasound, and Dexa, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, organized, and well-stocked room and ensures quality QA.
• Reviews images for accuracy and quality; repeats as needed for best results.
• Operates imaging equipment and verifies patient identification and contrast allergies.
• Educates patients about exams and discharge instructions after completion.

Job Description:

• Maintains a clean, organized, and well-stocked room, performing quality assurance on scanners and handling pharmaceutical waste according to training.
• Reviews all images for accuracy and quality, repeating images as necessary for the best possible result.
• Uses the computer system for ordering, changing, and canceling exams, ensuring orders match exams.
• Participates in employee satisfaction and customer service initiatives, contributing to process improvement projects and teams.
• Attends department and mandatory meetings with a positive attitude, staying informed about meeting content.
• Performs waived and non-waived Point of Care Testing, ensuring approved competency and documented proof at the time of training.
• Complies with appropriate standards and directives if registered in sonography.
• Completes all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
• Performs imaging procedures using AdventHealth CT, MRI, X-Ray, mammography, ultrasound, or Dexa protocols, ensuring proper patient identification and screening for contrast allergies.
• Educates patients about their exams and follow through with communication and discharge after completing exams.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, adapting protocols for patients of all ages and practicing infection control standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures. [Required]
• Maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures. [Required]
• Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, shielding and distance to keep exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable for patients and staff. [Required]
• Ability to complete exams in an acceptable time frame to meet TAT goals. [Required]
• Ability to assess, start and confirm appropriate placement of IV’s for use in CT and MR studies. [Required]
• The ability to assess, explain and perform all studies that a registry is held in on all patients of all ages. [Required]
• General computer skills and PACS [Preferred]

• General physics and anatomy [Preferred]

Education:

• High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
• Associates [Preferred]
• Field of Study: in Radiologic Technology

Work Experience:

• 3+ years experience in radiology with a year or more in additional modalities [Required]
• Years’ experience [Preferred]
