Job summary

The Salvation Army Phoenix Family Services is seeking staff for overnight, non-exempt shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7pm–7:30am) to support housing programs and intake processes. Must be available for overnight work and have a high school diploma or GED.

Experience in social services and proficiency with MS Office are preferred, along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, and fingerprint clearance is required for employment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• College courses related to social services or social services experience preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Good organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer/typing skills required.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to write reports and to calculate basic figures and numbers.
• Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagram or schedule instructions.
• Ability to handle crisis/emergency situations and to utilize crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and motivate participants to achieve housing goals.
• Must maintain a non-judgmental attitude in working with clients.
• Able to work independently and show initiative.
• Fingerprint clearance card required or eligible.
• Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
• Must work various shifts/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Responds to intake queries, collects and analyzes documentation, and selects eligible candidates for admission.
• Supervises medication administration and logs medications; coordinates medical referrals as directed.
• Oversees client housing quarters, conducts inspections, and manages property needs.
• Oversees client reception and coordinates social services and monthly service reports.
• Coordinates outside activities and events for clients and supports program coordination.
• Provides administration support to the Program Coordinator including client databases and IT liaison.
• Attends staff meetings and may participate in religious activities during the work day.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
