Ronald McDonald House Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana seeks an Overnight Weekend Coordinator to support families, register and check in/out, monitor facility conditions, supervise housekeeping, and respond to overnight emergencies. The role includes sleeping onsite and weekend shifts to provide a friendly, capable staff presence.

The position emphasizes compassionate service, collaboration with hospitals, volunteers, and donors, with a pay rate of $19.75 per hour and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• 2 years related work experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience considered.
• Must be a self-starter able to multitask and work under pressure.
• Compassionate and caring, aligned to mission and standard of care.
• Demonstrate empathy and relate to families in crisis.

Responsibilities

• Execute defined policies and procedures for the program.
• Welcome and orient guests, complete check-in/out with paperwork.
• Demonstrate a caring attitude toward families, volunteers, and donors.
• Act as liaison to hospitals for referrals/reservations.
• Explain program policies to guests and referring partners.
• Provide information and direct families to resources or services.
• Perform rounds to maintain relationships and identify needs.
• Coordinate daily strategy for use of rooms to serve more families.
• Assist with occupancy records for monthly reporting.
• Ensure common areas stay clean and stocked.
• Respond to emergencies during overnight shifts when needed.
• Lead or co-lead meal, baking, and activity groups.
• Welcome guests and give tours.
• Train and oversee volunteers performing essential tasks.
• Support Welcome Desk coverage.
• Knowledge of security systems and features.
• Attend meetings and trainings as requested.
• Complete data entry and documentation for shifts.
