Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Ashland, VA, is hiring for an overnight warehouse selector to support the distribution team. You will select products for Wegmans stores, maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and safety on four 10-hour night shifts per week.

Responsibilities include operating pallet jacks/forklifts and Vocollect, auditing orders, and preserving product quality and cold-chain integrity. An extra $2.00/hour applies to frozen items, with comprehensive benefits and safety training offered.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate pallet jacks/forklifts and follow safety procedures.

• Ability to perform tasks in cold environments and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you’ll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores, using your attention to detail and teamwork skills to ensure success.

Work schedule

Overnight positions consist of four 10-hour shifts per week

What You’ll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect
