Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets is hiring for an overnight Warehouse Selector to efficiently build pallets, handle equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, and perform quality audits. This role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and teamwork in a fast-paced distribution environment.

You will help maintain cold-chain integrity on temperature-controlled loads and occasionally lift substantial weights while adhering to safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications

• Overnight shifts four 10-hour days per week.
• Operate pallets/containers safely and efficiently.
• Maintain quality and accuracy through audits and procedures.
• Collaborate with team to meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pallets are built safely and efficiently to maximize space and minimize damage.
• Safely operate forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect as required.
• Perform order audits to verify accuracy and quality.
• Maintain knowledge of quality standards and product specs.
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues with reports and communications.
• Maintain cold chain integrity for loads requiring temperature control.
• Lift 20–25 pounds regularly; may lift >50 pounds occasionally.

As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you’ll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores, using your attention to detail and teamwork skills to ensure success.

Work schedule: Overnight positions consist of four 10-hour shifts per week.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

Frozen positions earn an extra $2.00/hour
