Job summary

Wegmans is seeking a warehouse associate to accurately select products for Wegmans stores and to maintain safety and efficiency in pallet building. You will operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and Vocollect while ensuring quality and order accuracy.

Flexible exposure to cold environments and lifting of 20–25 pounds on average, with occasional heavier items, are expected. Wegmans offers comprehensive benefits and a strong safety culture for all eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 20–25 lbs with occasional greater than 50 lbs.
• Experience operating pallet jack and forklift equipment.
• Comfort with cold temperatures and standing for long periods.
• Strong teamwork and reliable communication on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Build pallets safely and efficiently to minimize damage and maximize space.
• Operate equipment as required (forklift, pallet jack, Vocollect).
• Conduct order audits to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Maintain knowledge of quality standards and product specs.
• Report daily quality issues to operations management using reports and communications.
• Maintain cold chain integrity for loads with temperature requirements.

What You'll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space.
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as heavy. Work includes prolonged walking and standing and frequent heavy lifting, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending and reaching, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, in order to assemble store orders in a variety of warehouse settings in a fast paced environment. Work also involves moving containers or cases onto pallets and/or into shipping containers for distribution to the stores. The average weight range of items lifted is 20 – 25 pounds with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently. May receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderately high and trunk movement involves moderately high to high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with ambient (60° – 85°) temperatures and may involve exposure to cold (33° – 55°) and/or freezing (-20° – 20°) temperatures. Protective clothing is provided. Basic tools and equipment used include powered pallet jack, pallets, fork truck, pallets, shipping containers and labels, computerized picking system, and headset.; Experience operating a pallet jack
