Job summary

City Veterinary Care in New York is seeking a veterinary technician for full-time overnight shifts to support a busy hospital with diagnostic imaging, triage, and client communication. You will assist with surgery preparation, patient restraint, and post-care instructions while maintaining high standards of care.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, knowledge of veterinary terminology, and ability to handle animals safely are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a veterinary technician or related field.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
• Familiarity with pet care practices and techniques.
• Proficiency in handling and restraining animals safely and effectively.
• Experience with laboratory procedures and sample collection.
• Ability to operate X-ray equipment and develop X-ray films.
• Knowledge of basic animal husbandry practices, including feeding, exercise, and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, diagnostic imaging, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance.
