Job summary

Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview, NY is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Receptionist. This full-time role features three 12-hour shifts (7pm–7am) with a starting hourly rate of $20+, commensurate with experience.

You will be the first contact for clients, delivering welcoming, compassionate service while coordinating admissions, scheduling, and client communications within our busy specialty and emergency hospital.

Qualifications

• Fluent English speaking and reading required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Veterinary hospital experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and provide professional, compassionate customer service.
• Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and client updates.
• Answer phone calls and assist clients with questions and scheduling needs.
• Support medication refill requests and client communication.
• Review invoices and assist with payment processing.
• Maintain organization and accuracy in a fast-paced specialty and emergency veterinary hospital.
• Partner with medical teams to ensure clients feel informed and supported throughout their pet’s care.
