The Triangle's premier Emergency and Specialty Hospital is growing! We are looking for highly motivated and passionate individuals to join the TVRH team at our Durham location. We provide 24-hour emergency service and specialty referrals in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, radiology, neurology and rehabilitation and we're looking for team members who want to reach their fullest potential in a fast paced, fun, and stimulating environment.

We are currently seeking Technician Assistants for our Emergency/ICU Department. These roles function with a great deal of autonomy and responsibility. A strong work ethic, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and with a team are required.

Job Summary
The ER/ICU Technician Assistant (TA) role is responsible for assisting the technicians and clinicians so they are able complete daily tasks in an efficient manner. In conjunction with patient care, this role is also responsible for routine maintenance of the hospital ensuring proper infectious disease protocols are followed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Properly restrain canine and feline patients for procedures
  • Assist clinicians and technicians with patient care
  • Assist in positioning and acquisition of patient radiographs
  • Run in-house laboratory tests
  • Set-up and prep for patient procedures
  • Fill patient prescriptions
  • Proactively assist team members throughout the hospital when necessary
  • Enter patient vitals into Cornerstone and complete patient treatments in Instinct in addition to other necessary basic entry into patient records
  • Stock supplies in ICU
  • Add items to the want list as supplies are needed
  • Complete service’s daily and weekly cleaning task lists
  • Assist in cleaning duties including but not limited to laundry, sweeping/mopping floors, taking out the trash/recycling, cleaning treatment areas, cages, counter tops and bathrooms
General
  • Identify and bring to the attention of the management, any issues or concerns and assist in the development of solutions
  • Maintain professionalism in high pressure situation and around clients in varying emotional states.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in the veterinary field
  • MUST have professional experience with proper canine and feline restraint
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
