Role Title: Veterinary Technician: ER/ICU

Department: Emergency Critical Care

Shift: Day (7am-7pm), Overnight (7pm-7am)

Schedule: Every Thursday, Friday, & Saturday

  • Up to four Holiday required per year
  • Working at both our Oakdale (OD) and St. Paul (SP) hospitals
  • This position will be scheduled and trained to work ER, ICU, and Lab roles

Shift Differential: Eligible ($4/hr - $6/hr on top of base hourly wage)

Relocation Assistance: Eligible, up to $2,000. Exact assistance is determined based on multiple factors, to be discussed at time of interview(s).

The primary function of the Veterinary Technician is to provide exceptional care of both patients and clients by serving as an extension of the veterinarian. Additionally, the Veterinary Technician is expected to promote professional growth through education and learning opportunities.

Patient Care

  • Skills can be taught. We value training and professional development. You will be provided with a minimum of 16 training shifts before you're set free to save lives. These training shifts will be both on the floor, and classroom-based, working closely with individuals from our professional development training team. When you succeed, we all succeed.
  • You have a minimum of one year experience as a veterinary technician in a clinical practice and will be comfortable with the basic tasks such as IVC placement, venipuncture, bloodwork (CBC/Chem/UA) and performance of x-rays and sedated procedures.
  • If you have advanced skills such as central line placement, urinary catheterization, critical nursing, pharmacology, physiology, and advanced imaging, you will bring a wealth of knowledge to our motivated and education-hungry team.
