Job summary

K&T Security is hiring an Unarmed Overnight Security Officer for Bowie State University. The part-time shift runs overnight from 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM, with an hourly wage of $20–$23 based on experience.

Ideal candidates include veterans, former law enforcement, or those with campus security background. Responsibilities include monitoring entry points, patrolling, assisting staff and visitors, and responding to emergencies while producing accurate shift reports.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Maryland Guard Card.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain before employment.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; friendly and de-escalation capable.
• Previous security, law enforcement, military, or campus security experience preferred.
• Ability to work overnight shifts consistently and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control entry and exit points for authorized personnel.
• Conduct routine patrols to deter incidents and maintain security.
• Provide professional greeting and assistance to staff, visitors, and guests.
• Respond promptly to emergencies such as medical incidents or alarms.
• Prepare detailed incident reports for each shift.
• Operate radios, CCTV, and access control systems; coordinate with team and police when needed.
