Job summary

Evolve Treatment Centers in California is seeking an Overnight Residential Counselor to supervise clients at a 6-bed residential center. The role requires staying awake overnight (10pm–6am), ensuring safety and line-of-sight, and performing light facility maintenance.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 21, and have experience with teens in mental health or substance use contexts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must be able to stay awake all night; overnight shift experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 6–9 months of experience working with teens with mental health or substance abuse.
• 6–9 months of experience in an adolescent group home or similar setting.
• All schedules require at least 1 weekend shift.
• Pass LiveScan background check and federal/state background checks.
• Possess a valid California driver’s license.
• Must be willing to interact with COVID-positive clients, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Be awake, alert, and active for the entire duration of the night shift (10pm-6am).
• Ensure clients are in bed all night and provide line of sight at all times.
• Check on the clients every 15 minutes.
• Walk through the facility and perform maintenance checks.
• Assist with inventory checks and notify the facility manager of needs.
• Document all shift activity in KIPU.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the facility.
• Attend and participate in monthly Treatment Team Meetings.
