Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a salaried supervisor to lead 20–25 hourly Team Members across one or more manufacturing value streams. You will implement Lean principles to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment.

Partner with the Value Stream Manager to develop a skilled workforce and optimize processes. The role focuses on developing employees, driving cost reductions, and achieving daily goals aligned with strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.
• Proven leadership experience managing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and employee empowerment by enforcing standardized work, 5S principles, and safety compliance.
• Lead and oversee daily production operations across assigned value stream(s), coordinating between shifts and with supply chain and production control teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools to reduce costs, lead times, and inventory.
• Develop, coach, and mentor Team Members and Leads to build a high-performing team.
• Facilitate daily team meetings to discuss challenges and solutions, promoting open communication.
• Utilize visual management tools to monitor performance and ensure transparency.
• Support budget preparation, adherence, and strategic planning for improvements.
• Ensure cross-training of Team Members to maintain flexibility and workflow.
• Promote a positive work environment that supports safety, quality, and right-first time.

Position Summary

As a salaried supervisor, (Value Stream Team Leader), you will lead 20 - 25 hourly Team Members in daily operations and continuous improvement efforts within one or more manufacturing value streams. Partnering closely with the Value Stream Manager, you will implement Lean manufacturing principles to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment. Your leadership will be vital in developing a skilled workforce, optimizing processes, and achieving daily operational goals that align with our strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and employee empowerment by enforcing standardized work, 5S principles, & compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead and oversee daily production operations across assigned value stream(s), including coordination between shifts and collaboration with supply chain and production control teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools and methodologies (e.g., PDCA cycles, pull systems, leveling workloads) to reduce costs, lead times, and inventory.
• Develop, coach, and mentor Team Members and their Leads to build a qualified, engaged, and high-performing team.
• Facilitate daily team meetings to discuss challenges, share solutions, and promote open communication.
• Utilize visual management tools such as Tracking Centers and Team Improvement Boards to monitor performance and ensure transparency.
• Support the Value Stream Manager in budget preparation, adherence, and strategic planning for continuous operational improvements.
• Ensure cross-training of Team Members to maintain operational flexibility and uninterrupted workflow.
• Promote a positive work environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and "right-first time" quality standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field with manufacturing experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to lead and influence teams to achieve operational and continuous improvement goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-5 years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing.
• Firsthand experience with Lean manufacturing principles and leading Lean teams.
• Solid understanding of accounting, inventory control, and production planning systems.
• Demonstrated ability to build teamwork, assess skills, and develop employees.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and fostering a continuous improvement culture.
