General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience. They greet customers courteously, treat fellow associates with respect, follow company standards, maintain a clean work area, and ensure proper merchandise presentation. They perform various tasks across store areas as needed and may be assigned additional duties to meet customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors at all times.
• Maintain a safe shopping environment, keep exits clear, and report unsafe conditions.
• Greet customers warmly, assist with merchandise, and handle questions courteously.
• Respond promptly to customer service needs and resolve issues or escalate when necessary.
• Support the company brand and maintain a professional appearance.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold store standards.
• Ensure merchandise is organized and well-presented, expedite receipts, and support loss prevention programs.
• Handle transactions accurately and efficiently, following all policies.
• Maximize productivity by following store best practices and workflows.

Qualifications and Skills

Effective communication with customers, associates, and leadership in a friendly manner. Basic math skills used in retail.

Physical Requirements

• Use of store equipment including registers and computers.
• Standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Push, pull, and lift heavier items as required, especially in stockroom shifts.
