Job summary

SI Utility LLC in Texas is seeking a seasoned Production Manager to lead our overnight fabrication shift. You will enforce safety policies and manage all stages from cutting to finishing, while coordinating with Sales and Engineering on production plans.

The role requires strong experience in steel fabrication, lean manufacturing and root cause analysis, with a focus on quality and on-time delivery. This is an on-site Midland position offering growth opportunities and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production leadership experience in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Proven record of improving safety, quality and output.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, AWS D1.1 and ASTM A123, backed by training or verifiable experience.
• Experience leading lean manufacturing, 5S and root cause analysis efforts.
• Strong KPI analysis and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Enforce OSHA 1910 and company safety policies, lead safety meetings and incident reviews.
• Oversee all overnight production stages, including cutting, welding, galvanizing and finishing.
• Build production plans with Sales and Engineering, sequence work orders, and plan materials based on capacity and commitments.
• Ensure work meets AWS D1.1, ASTM A123, ASME, ISO 9001:2015 and customer specifications; manage nonconformances.
• Lead root cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone) and implement corrective actions in production.
• Manage supervisors and shop floor employees, handle training and performance evaluations.
• Put lean manufacturing and 5S practices in place; record lessons learned in QMS.
• Monitor tons per man-hour, yield, on-time delivery, scrap and rework; review trends weekly.
• Schedule preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Logistics and Quality; support audits.
