Job summary

Frontline Response in Atlanta, GA seeks an Overnight Resident Assistant to provide essential overnight coverage and support to residents in a shelter setting. You will monitor safety, enforce rules, assist with intake, and help ensure meals and smooth nightly routines.

The role requires strong communication, calmness under pressure, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Background checks are required; ServSafe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; social services preferred.
• At least 1 year direct service experience in residential shelter.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to respond to physical emergencies, including evacuation of campus buildings.
• Background checks required upon hire.
• Strong conflict resolution and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergencies.
• ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of shelter by enforcing rules and inspections.
• Assist with initial screening, intake and enrollment for services.
• Conduct resident orientation to ensure understanding of rules and policies.
• Work with volunteers in the residential area.
• Drive agency van to transport clients.
• Maintain client files and data.
• Overnight monitoring and de-escalation of issues.
• Prepare and serve breakfast; coordinate with kitchen/volunteers.
• Complete nightly reports and communicate with daytime staff.
• Report maintenance or facility concerns.
